This image and image for chapter five has much better contrast when up on screen 

On an earlier up load of this image was quite pale and have enhanced it so it can be seen better on screen (everything looks a lot paler up on screen. This is not what it will look like in the print out!). Although I like the delicacy of it, the elevator is suppose to be a bit like a droplet on a leaf. I think this is pretty imaginative to me :)  

The final layout was finally inspired by this book.  Although there is slightly more creativity in this book when it comes to the typography and Quentin Blakes style is really lose and very beautiful. He never over works his images. Something that I am striving to be more like. 

chapter 7

extract from story..

'Taking one more good look now outside he could see a series of slow moving Beetle cars – but they hovered just above the road. He couldn’t quite make out the drivers, but they were hunched over and very thin looking. Just then, one came close and he glimpsed a shadowy figure wearing a hoody … no, was it? It almost looked like wings or a small cloak. It was no use – it floated by in its car before he could be sure.
“It’s just like bugs have evolved and are running the planet instead! - Driving and everything! Sal! Look outside.”

This is a print-screen shot of the jacket cover of the book. I sent this and books content of to lulu to hopefully be published. I need to put my name on the book. I just wanted to get it published. I have never used an online site to publish a book and have heard that lulu can mess things up. I am aware of this, so I might try blub out next week if this is the case.

I got a got a great vibe from fellow students.

chapter 6

for this illustration I felt it was important to capture the business of the future exhibition. Sally and Alan are mouse size!

'The crowd were quite far ahead now which meant Sally and Alan were able to get a view of a few more of the displays. The next capsule showed a big tree and on it was birds with human faces sitting on the branches. Sally let out an unexpectedly loud laugh that shocked them both with its echo. The crowd turned around a little startled, but quickly turned back to what they were doing. It would be the same if we were to hear a mouse squeaking.

My inspiration for approaching chapter 6 in this way was inspired just by watching the film 'The dark crystal'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypssfhyMfKs' The business of the strange creatures!
